Unlimited Memory: How to Use Advanced Learning Strategies to Learn Faster, Remember More and be More Productive - A Comprehensive Summary
Do you often forget where you left your keys or your wallet? Have you ever experienced meeting someone and not remembering who they are? Do you keep forgetting important dates such as birthdays or anniversaries? Then congratulations on picking up this book. You are one step closer to enhancing your memory.
Unlimited Memory offers several methods to remember information quickly and effectively. Although not taught in school, these techniques are very helpful not only in learning but in life as a whole. Without memory, we would have no sense of identity and purpose. That is why it is important to take control of the brain and increase its potential by unlocking powerful memory.
People have always linked memorization with cramming and information overload with the result that things are easily forgotten or barely understood. Moreover, there are always instances of information getting stuck at the tip of the tongue. It is in the memory where all that is studied is stored. But what is the point of learning if it will not be remembered for long?
There are some who say memory becomes irrelevant with the digital age. Information is just one click away. However, no company would hire someone who would Google everything all the time. Likewise, it would be very bothersome if a doctor had to consult books while treating a patient.
Memory is at the center of the human existence. Together with learning, it unlocks the wonderful abilities of the mind. It is in the memory where all new information acquired from learning is stored over time. Humans will only learn and forget without memory. Advances in technology and way of life would not be possible without it.
The book is divided into three parts. The first part is “Concentrate.” It discusses how excuses and beliefs block people from learning. It also shows the importance of living in the moment. The second part is “Create and Connect.” All the memory methods will be explained in its chapters. Each method is complete with examples which readers can practice. The general idea is to create images in your mind and connect them. The third part is “Continuous Use.” To retain what you have learned, apply it every day and make it a habit. Part three will also help you boost your self-discipline.
The author, Kevin Horsley, has improved his own life by harnessing unlimited memory. He is actually dyslexic. He had a hard time in school and by the time he graduated college, he still could not finish reading even one book. Horsley experienced change a few years later when he chanced upon a book written by Tony Buzan titled Use your Memory. It made him realize that he could train his mind. From then on, he read more books about the mind, brain, and memory. Horsley educated and trained himself for years until he had overcome his dyslexia.
In 1995, he joined the World Memory Championships and won second place. He was also given the title Grandmaster of Memory in Hertfordshire, England. Horsley went on further in 1999 when he was able to break the world record of memorizing the first 10,000 digits of Pi. The challenge was called the “Everest of Memory Tests” and he accomplished it only in fourteen minutes.
Kevin Horsley proves that nothing is impossible and that there is no limit to the memory. In this book, he wants to share these abilities with readers. Good memory is not a magic trick. It is a skill and it can be learned. Everything you need to achieve it is in this book. Follow the steps and experience change.
